Cove Corner Estates

On the Lake of the Ozarks, at the end of Brush Creek Cove, in Sunrise Beach, MO, is a corner of heaven we have aptly named Cove Corner Estates.

This lush slice of land is a mix of lakeside and creekside lots plus second tier home sites with scenic views of the lakes and wooded hills. Along the lake is a grass beach and mowed meadow owned by the McShane family, who have been residents or regular visitors for more than 50 years.

Around the Cabin

Starting as a small box cabin purchased in the 1960s by the late Joe Connaway, the original cabin has transformed over the years as weekend warrior friends with their six packs (of beer) visited and helped reshape it into the cozy cottage it is today. Still quite primitive and out of scale by modern standards this little red cabin provides a vacation reprieve from the normal busy work life.

Traditions and memories…

Traditions and memories are made around the homemade cinderblock fire pit, where a breakfast welcomes friends with the smell of bacon, and eggs get served with a serendipitous amount of hickory ash freshly curled from the fire.

Afternoons are filled with Lake Fun where swimming and boating can be enjoyed all summer long, or perhaps antique shopping, golf at a club, or attending a local pigeon swap. Then as the evening comes (or when ever the first thirst strikes), libations begin to flow and add to the fun. Everyone wants to be the first to use the “Can-Crusher”, a handy wall mounted device that can crush an empty can with a single pull, thereby eliminating the evidence before grabbing another from the cooler.

Evenings will sometimes inspire a few neighbors to visit and assist with the can-crushing or wine sampling, followed by a gaze at the unfiltered starry sky while sitting in front of the open pit fire and listening to the serenade by crickets and frogs.
